AMS Membership Renewal

The Association of Muslim Schools UK (AMS) works to represent Muslim schools with the Department for Education and Ofsted. Much of what we do is presented at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and AGM Report. The details of the 2018/19 AGM and report will be communicated to schools ahead of the AGM on Saturday 29 June.

We thank you for your continuing support of AMS and hope your involvement helps us and Muslim schools throughout the country to improve.

Please take the time to review the benefits AMS membership has to offer. We continue to strive to improve our offer to member schools and to ensure they benefit from their membership as much as possible. The renewal form gives schools an opportunity to provide feedback to the AMS Shura Council and Central Office which will allow us to develop our services.

AMS Membership for the 2019/20 academic year is now payable which will cover your schools’ membership from 1 August 2019 until 31 July 2020.

Membership costs (2019/20)

AMS Membership operates based on the academic year from 1 August to 31 July. Below are the related costs of subscribing to AMS Membership.

AMS Membership Subscription fee
To access and retain all benefits of AMS membership, schools must ensure the Membership Subscription fee and other outstanding invoices due for services, training and other activities have been paid.
The Membership Subscription fee for the 2019/20 academic year is £300.00

Schools can also make payments for their Membership Subscription fee in instalments by a monthly Standing Order. The monthly Standing Order payment from 2019/20 is £30.00 and will commence from 1 August.

Schools renewing their Membership Subscription fee by Standing Order for the first time will have to make an initial payment to cover any months elapsed after 1 August of the membership year in which they are joining.

Resigning from AMS Membership

Schools wishing to resign from AMS Membership must do so in writing on headed paper confirming they wish to resign from membership. It is also appreciated if schools can state their reasons for resigning although they not obliged to do so.

Resignation letters may sent by email to office@ams-uk.org or by post to AMS, Branston Court, Branston Street, Birmingham, B18 6BA.

Please note that membership with AMS will remain active until a resignation letter is received and the school will remain liable for any Membership Subscription fees due.

Upon receipt of the resignation letter, AMS will reply to confirm receipt and the date their membership will lapse, which unless otherwise agreed, will be 31 July of that academic year. The school will be removed from the Register of Members and the Muslim Schools Directory.

Membership benefits such as discounted tickets at staff training events and free job postings on the online AMS Jobs Board will also cease from this date.

Schools are welcome to apply to re-join as members any time after their membership has expired, subject to:

  • Payment of one-off joining fee
  • Approval of AMS Shura Council
  • Payment of any outstanding invoices due to AMS
  • Payment of current year’s membership subscription
