Annual Muslim Schools Conference & Awards Ceremony 2012


The Association of Muslim Schools UK is pleased to invite you to this year’s annual conference and awards ceremony focussing on the theme of ‘Empowering Future Generations’.  

Date:  Saturday 24th March 2012, 10.30am (Registration opens at 9.30am) – 5pm

The morning session will consist of speeches by Dr Mohamed Mukadam, former chairman of AMS UK and principal of Madani High School and Arzoo Ahmed, a former student of Manchester Islamic High School for Girls who has gone onto complete her undergraduate degree at Oxford University in Physics.  Two high achieving independent Muslim schools will talk about the journey they have taken to improve their schools. Jamiatul Ummah School from East London and Manchester Muslim Preparatory School.  The AMS UK Independent Muslim Schools Awards will also presented in the morning session with the aim of recognizing excellence in independent Muslim schools and their staff.

After lunch, networking and afternoon prayers the rest of the afternoon will be dedicated to the 12 workshops.  Delegates will have the choice of attending two different 1.5 hour work shops or one 3 hour workshop.  Workshops include ‘Tarbiyah strategies for your school’ by Sh. Ahmed Babikir, ‘Nurturing Giftedness & Creativity’ by Mohammad Akram Khan Cheema OBE and ‘What is outstanding teaching and what makes an outstanding teacher – an inspector’s perspective’.
