2018 Annual General Meeting Notice

The Association of Muslim Schools (AMS) Shura Council gives notice that the 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at 10.00am on Saturday 30 June 2018, at Madani Schools Federation, 77 Evington Valley Road, Leicester, LE5 5LL, for the following purposes:

  • To receive and consider the Annual Report of activities for the current academic year to date
  • To receive and consider the Financial Report of the Association for the financial year ended March 31 2018.
  • To elect four members to serve on the Shura Council as directors and trustees of the Association (3 year term).

All AMS member schools are invited to attend the 2018 Annual General Meeting. For the purposes of voting, schools can nominate one representative who will have the authority to cast votes on their behalf. If you wish your school to be represented at the AGM, please complete the form below and submit. Up to two additional non-voting representatives may also attend the meeting.

The deadline for confirming AGM attendance is Friday 15 June 2018. The AGM may only be attended by named representatives of AMS member schools.

AGM Booking

If a member school would like to nominate a representative to serve on the Shura Council and stand for election, a written notice must be sent to AMS, with the name of the representative, their role in the school (e.g. headteacher, governor) and the expertise they can bring to the Shura Council and member schools, along with two references (one reference must be related to education and one reference must be from outside the school they are representing). If they satisfy the requirements laid out in the Association’s Constitution, their name will be added to the ballot paper on the day.

AGM attendees will also have the opportunity to view and trial a number of new educational products and services courtesy of Innovate My School, a community-driven educational organisation that keeps teachers informed about the latest ideas and trends in education. Please see the poster below for more information.

The AGM and Innovate My School speed date is free to attend and lunch will be served following the conclusion.
