Part-Time SENDCO Vacancy
Location: Leyton, London E10
Contract: Part-Time (3-4 days per term)
Salary: Dependent on experience, qualifications, and track record
We are a thriving and inclusive secondary boys school in Leyton, London E10, committed to providing high-quality education in National Curriculum subjects alongside Hifz classes. Our school fosters a nurturing and supportive environment where students are encouraged to reach their full potential.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced part-time SENDCO to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring compliance with SEND regulations, and equipping teachers with best practices for inclusive classroom teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure compliance with SEND regulations for a small cohort of SEND pupils (mostly without EHCPs).
- Work closely with an assistant SEND teacher to implement interventions and support strategies.
- Provide training and guidance to teachers on SEND classroom practice.
- Maintain accurate SEND records, liaising with external agencies when necessary.
- Collaborate with staff, parents, and stakeholders to support the school’s inclusive ethos.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
✔ Relevant SENDCO qualification (e.g., NASENCO)
✔ Previous experience as a SENDCO in a school setting
✔ Strong understanding of SEND legislation, safeguarding, and compliance
✔ Experience supporting students with SEND
Key Skills & Personal Attributes:
✔ Strong organisational and time-management skills
✔ Excellent oral and written communication skills
✔ Ability to work independently and collaboratively
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
✔ A positive, adaptable, and professional approach
✔ Ability to contribute to the overall ethos of the school, having regard to its mission statement.
