Overview:
We're looking for a Tazkiyah Teacher who can teach Arabic and Islamic studies.
As a Secondary School Teacher at Apex Secondary School, you'll have the opportunity to inspire and educate pupils aged 11 to 16 (or up to 18 when the school has a sixth form). Specialising into particular subjects, you'll play a pivotal role in planning, teaching, and assessing lessons in line with curriculum objectives. We are seeking passionate educators who are dedicated to fostering a healthy culture of learning, supporting pupils' progress, and keeping up-to-date with developments in education.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver engaging lessons to classes of different ages and abilities.
- Mark work, provide appropriate feedback, and maintain records of pupils' progress and development.
- Research new topic areas, maintain up-to-date subject knowledge, and devise new curriculum materials.
- Select and use a range of learning resources and equipment, including podcasts and interactive whiteboards.
- Prepare pupils for qualifications and external examinations.
- Manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, applying appropriate measures in cases of misbehaviour.
- Undertake pastoral duties, such as taking on the role of form tutor and supporting pupils through academic or personal difficulties.
- Communicate with parents and carers over pupils' progress and participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole-school training events.
- Liaise with other professionals, such as learning mentors and educational psychologists.
- Organise and participate in extracurricular activities, such as outings, clubs, and sporting events.
- Undergo regular observations and participate in continuing professional development.

- Degree-level qualification (Essential)
- Qualified Teacher Status (Desired)
- Ability to teach to GCSE standard (Essential)
- Flexibility to teach multiple subjects (Desired)
- Teaching Experience in an Islamic School (Desired)
- Experience in Teaching in a School (Essential)
- Experience working in a demanding job (Desired)
- Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement (Desired)
- Experience of innovation and creativity to engage, enthuse, and progress learners (Essential)
