The AMS is leading the development of resources that can be used in the classroom to teach RSE, as well as support for leaders in meeting their statutory obligations; all within an Islamic context.
The AMS has developed resources that will help schools to manage changes in the government’s education policies.
The independent schools council (ISC) have compiled a list of schools amongst their 1300+ members, which has a sixth form provision that offer bursaries. The list of schools is based on highly populated towns and cities that AMS members schools are situated.
National Professional Qualification (NPQs)
The AMS is looking to support the leadership capabilities of hundreds of middle leaders, senior leaders, headteachers and executive leaders across the country.
In September 2021, a reformed suite of NPQs was made available to teachers and leaders. This suite of qualifications includes several improvements and additions.
The AMS has partnered with a DFE-accredited NPQ provider to provide leaders of our schools access to the full suite of NPQs on offer.
These courses can either be self-funded or accessed as an apprenticeship. NB: Apprenticeship training can be from Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) through to Level 7 (Masters).

The 4 NPQs in specialist areas of teaching have been designed with both classroom teachers and leaders in mind. They are:
- Leading Teacher Development– Learn how to become a teacher educator and successfully support teachers in your school to expand their skills
- Leading Teaching– Learn how to lead the teaching and learning of a subject, year group or phase
- Leading Behaviour and Culture– Learn how to create a culture of good behaviour and high expectations in which staff and pupils can thrive
- Leading Literacy – Learn how to effectively teach and promote literacy across the whole school, year group, key stage or phase
The Leadership NPQs are:
- Senior Leadership– Develop your leadership knowledge and expertise to improve outcomes for teachers and pupils in your school
- Headship– Develop the knowledge that underpins expert school leadership and apply it to become an outstanding headteacher
- Executive Leadership– Develop the expertise you need to become an outstanding executive leader, leading change and improvement across your group of schools or multi-academy trust
- Early Years Leadership– Develop expertise in leading high-quality early years education and care, as well as effective staff and organisational management

There will be two opportunities during the academic year 2023/2024 for applicants to apply. The intake for Autumn 2023 will close 8th October 2023 and the intake for Spring 2024 cohort will open 9th October 2023 and close late January 2024.
