Are you ready for QTS?
The Assessment Only (AO) Route to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is intended for experienced, but unqualified teachers with a minimum of two years teaching experience. This route expects teachers to have developed at least some teaching skills through experience of teaching. Unlike traditional routes such as the PGCE, it will not support you through direct training. Your current school should encourage the development of teaching skills through support and guidance.
A part-funded scheme for Assessment Only Route, in partnership with the University of Cumbria, is now available for candidates at AMS member schools.
The fees for the full programme for 2016/17 are £2590, to be paid in full at the point of registration and before the assessment interview takes place. This includes the fee for the Initial Assessment Interview of £520. This part of the fee is non-refundable. If, at interview, there is insufficient evidence to proceed with the assessment, candidates will exit at this point and the remainder of their fees will be returned to the fee-payer.

Candidates can apply for a bursary of £500 from AMS to pay towards the course fees. The first ten candidates who are successful at the Initial Assessment Interview stage will be eligible for this bursary. To apply for the bursary, please complete the form below.
